A beautiful dress and a bargain high

On the weekend we met up with an old friend of mine while he was visiting Melbourne. After brunch I wanted to drop into a certain vintage market to have a rummage and show my friend who has an appreciation for such things.

I didn't think I would find anything particularly cheap or at least for the amount of money I had in my pocket (oh no, let me get that right, my husbands pocket) but when I saw this dress I couldn't believe the price...

The belt is in perfect condition!

...and the description 'wonderful 1970's dress $18' WHAAAAAAT????

A lovely bow on the shoulder

Now just looking at this dress you can tell it isn't 1970's but 1950's with its metal zip and details. I looked left and right and made a b-line for the change rooms just hoping that it was my size.

And you know what, it was a perfect fit! I just need to get a skirt slip that is the right length or maybe I'll contact Karlee at The Golden Age and get a quote, 'cause I can't wear it as is. So in the meantime I'll just dance around the room holding it up to myself.
